As I’ve mentioned in my recent posts, I have a new job at a gas station in a horrible neighborhood. There’s a strip club right next door, so we get a ton of drunk customers at night.
Last night there was a problem at the strip club. Apparently 2 people didn’t pay for a table dance and a few drinks. When the club called the cops, the men ran to their car and drove off completely drunk. The cops stopped them from leaving the parking lot through the main exit, so they backed up and tore through the parking lot of my gas station.
I was outside sweeping up trash (and being nosy), and nearly got run over by the drunk drivers. 4 cop cars chased after the car, tearing through the parking lot as well. The drunk drivers drove by my work 5 or 6 times, and at one point there were 6 cop cars tearing down the road (no lights or sirens…pretty unsafe, eh?)
My understanding of what happened last night is that both men went to jail for DUI and running from the police. Halfway through the chase, the passenger switched with the driver, so they both were caught driving drunk. Smart, huh?
I don’t know if this is related at all, but across the street there were two police cars and a police dog looking in a car wash. They were there for a good 20 minutes looking around.
