Would you be interested? + Personal Update

Posted October 19th, 2008, at 01:48 AM

I was just wondering how many of my readers use Twitter. I’m considering writing a few tutorials for other uses of Twitter (website error monitoring, etc) but am not sure what the interest would be.

If you’d be interested in a series of tutorials for error reporting with twitter, please say so in the comments. I recently implemented this in a website, and it posts messages such as the following to twitter, allowing for faster customer service and error fixes.

Survey Results Update

The survey results are coming very soon. I’ve been working on it off and on, but my personal life has taken prescience. I’ve moved twice in the past 3 days (long story, don’t ask) and my laptop continues to have horrible problems (needs a new keyboard and power cable).

I just got a new phone to replace my lost one. If I usually have your number, please send me a text message or give me a call. 303-588-2376

I know this was a short update, but I just wanted to let you know what’s up and that I’ll be around a lot more now.

Holy Crap - eNaresh Version One

Posted October 8th, 2008, at 08:33 PM

enaresh retroI was looking through an old computer earlier today when I stumbled upon a folder called “My Websites”. I opened it and found the first two “versions” of eNaresh.com.

eNaresh.com was first registered in November, 2004. I wasn’t into web design very much then, so the content and designs are kind of odd. They were open source templates that I completely ruined by adding my own “flavor” too. I only had experience with MSN groups at the time, and used Microsoft Frontpage for everything - even creating tables.

You can view the old versions of eNaresh by going to eNaresh.com/retro and click one of the folders. Oh, and yes - I know they’re horrible. Thanks for pointing that out.

Enjoy!

I’m Back In Business

Posted October 5th, 2008, at 01:25 PM

Quite possibly the worst laptop ever madeMy laptop cable has been repaired and I’m back in business. I’ve been working on a few exciting new websites the past few days, and should be launching one sometime tomorrow!

I know I’ve said this already, but I’ll have a demo video of one of SiteRose’s features in a few days. I mentioned that a few weeks ago, but was unable to edit it because I’ve been using what’s quite possibly the worst laptop ever made.

Oh, and I don’t have a phone anymore, so no - I’m not ignoring your phone calls. I’ll be getting a new phone sometime this week most likely.

Why I Hate Craigslist

Posted September 28th, 2008, at 10:28 PM

So, my laptop cable has been fixed three times now, each time it’s just pulled apart. I don’t have a computer at the moment, but will get a loaner sometime tomorrow. Here’s what’s been happening the past few days:

I’m Not A Prostitute

Someone decided it would be an awesome idea to post my cell phone number on Craigslist under the “Casual Encounters” section as a prostitute for “300 roses”. For those of you who don’t know - 300 roses is $300 - people say “roses” to somehow slide past law enforcement. I appreciate the thought, but I don’t like getting calls from middle aged men every few minutes.

It took me 4 hours to get the ad taken down, and during that time I got about 60 calls and countless txt messages. Craigslist wasn’t responding, and I ended up talking to a police officer and had the ad removed.

So, there you have it. Keep abusing my number, I’ll have to get it changed. Otherwise - if you need any coding help or advice, give me a call or send me a txt. (303) 588-2376

Survey Extended (Sorry)

Posted September 22nd, 2008, at 02:15 AM

The eNaresh Survey has been extended for about a week. Sorry - I know you were hoping I’d do the drawing yesterday, but I need a little bit more data. If you haven’t taken the survey yet, Please Do! It’ll take less than a minute. I promise.

The prizes are iTunes or Amazon gift cards! There will be 3 winners, and you get to choose which site your gift card is for.

Oh, I almost forgot. I’ll have a new SiteRose preview tomorrow! The tutorial section is nearing completion…It’s going to be great.

Posted September 19th, 2008, at 08:02 PM

It takes a few seconds. Simply register at GigPark and navigate to GigPark.com/businesses/naresh. Click “Add Your Recommendation” and fill out the simple form.

It’ll take you just a few seconds, and would mean the world to me. I hope to soon make enough money doing web development to stay above water, and GigPark is where I plan to keep my testimonials.

Thanks,
Naresh!

Oh, by the way…word on the street is that there’ll be a podcast here soon.

Here’s Where Everything Stands

Posted September 17th, 2008, at 11:13 PM

SiteRose: Still in development and looking great! Working on a few tools tomorrow for it and will hopefully have a video soon.

Marijuana Posession: I scared a few people with my tweets. A day after posting about my legal issues, I got a call from the police department saying I was late on a payment on my ticket. I made the payment, and it wasn’t a big deal.

Stealing a credit card? Yeah, this one came out of the blue yesterday. I don’t know any of the facts, but I have an interrogation scheduled with Detective Kevin Courrier with the Adams County Police Department. I’ll let you know how everything goes. It should go fine though, considering the fact that I have no idea what’s going on.

Survey: Enter now! You only have a few days to enter! the drawing takes place on the 20th, but may be extended.
I’ll keep you posted.

The Shit Just Hit The Fan

Posted September 17th, 2008, at 12:56 PM

Sorry for the profanity right off the bat, it was much needed though. Remember my previous job? The one at the gas station? I wrote a few posts about it. Worst job I’ve ever had, officially.

Let me fill in the blanks. I quit that job over a month ago for a few reasons. The main reason was that I was stocking the cooler one night, and slipped and fell. There was about an inch of water on the floor because of faulty cooler units. I hit my head on the concrete floor and blacked out. I also vomited several times that night after the fall. I called my manager and asked if I could close the store and go to the hospital. He said no.

Secondly, the manager claimed that my cash drawer was short on multiple occasions. I even marked every dollar in my cash drawer with a sharpie once, and it was still off according to the manager.

This morning I got a call from a detective with the local Sheriff’s Office. He informed me that the gas station I worked for is claiming that I stole a credit card from a customer and filled up my friends gas tanks using that card - a blatant lie.

They’ve pulled the same stunt with several previous employees that I luckily am friends with. I have a call into the labor board to get a copy of the records.

I don’t know how much longer I can deal with this bullshit.
